3.5" x 6" copper. Sifted dry opaque enamels using a 1/32" custom-made sifter. Inspired by a photograph of the Pulsar as taken by the Hubble Space Telescope & published in Smithsonian Magazine. (Manus Dei is Latin for “Hand of God”). Completed May 2012.

Black Lotus Magic Card

63mm x 88 mm copper. I was attempting to make an accurate size rendition of this famous Magic Card specifically for my son’s 33rd birthday. Although I originally enameled the whole surface with oil-base enamels, the writing/text was an abysmal failure so ended up creating the outside frame & text on my computer & gluing it on. Completed May 2012.

Hippocampus Muscos (technique test piece)

3” x 5” copper plate. This piece was an attempt to create the feathery, tendril nerve tissues as seen in the photo for the 10" x 10" piece I yet intend to do, with an expanded image. I sifted on powdered enamel, then fired. Painted on a layer of black oil-base enamel, scratched my image thru it down to the color layer & then fired it again. Completed Apr 2012.

Single switch plate; copper. This image was inspired by a combination image of our galaxy as photographed by the Hubble Telescope. Techniques: Dry sift background; brush on oil-based liquid enamels for bursting image. Completed March 2012.

Single switchplate; copper. This was inspired by a lovely acrylic, "Geologic Universe" by Carol Kucera I found in a gallery catalog. Most people see my enamel as a water image. Techniques: Dry sift base coat (white); water-based liquid enamels applied with brush. Completed Feb 2012.
